The Great Synagogue The emblematic synagogue of Brest for the last 100 years was the old Great Synagogue, Di Groyseh shul, located near the center of the city:

In photos the building may appear as a regular octagon, but in reality its form was that of a square with truncated corners. The building was on Politseyskaya (after WWII: Sovietskaya) Street. See also here for more details about this street.
