Hatzfira, 15 January 1891 included a celebration of the life of Rabbi A. L. Feinstein on his 70th Jubilee under the by-line of reporter Ben-Zion Neumark:
A. L. Feinstein –son of Binymin– is a rabbi, scholar, famous in [Hebrew] literature for his many articles and his books Talpiot and Ir Tehila, blessed with both riches and wisdom. Rabbi Feinstein was born on the second day of Shvat. In his house, Torah and greatness dwell jointly. Although in our city all the honorable alufim already celebrated the event and honored him for the many activities he did in this city, the reporter reminds all who know Rabbi Feinstein in distant cities about the event. He proposes that the people of Brest memorialize his name – call a department in the school for handiwork by his name, or finish up the construction of the mikvah. He blesses Feinstein with physical strength to be able to continue and contribute from his spiritual wealth.
