Moshko-Gershko (Moishe) Tokar

A butcher. Son of Meir and Itka. Husband of Szprinca, who died by the early-to-mid 1920s. Father of Szymon, Sheine, Itsko/Icko, Reyzl, Chwalysz, Frejda, Doba, and Meyer. Sheine , my g-grandmother, married Moishe Sznajder in Brest in 1908 where all of her children were born. Sheine and all of the children emigrated to New York in 1928. Reyzl emigrated to Palestine in 1933. Her married name is Krinski. Meyer died as a teenager. See also dedications for Szymon, Itsko, Frejda, and Doba.

A butcher. Son of Moishe and Szprinca, husband of Frejda, father of 14 children, 11 of whom survived to adulthood, including Szprynca, Rosa, and Lejzor also memorialized here. In 1982, his son Sidor submitted Page of Testimony to Yad Vashem in memory of his brother Saul. Sidor emigrated to Argentina after the war. The details of Saul’s death and the fates of the other 6 children are not yet known.

Daughter of Srulim and Chaja, wife of Szymon; mother of 14 children, 11 of whom survived to adulthood, including Szprynca, Rosa, and Lejzor, also memorialized here. Lejzor Tokar

Son of Szymon and Frejda, husband of Chana, father of Gita. No photo of Lejzor has been found. Captured by the Germans on Sept. 17 1939. He spent about a year in captivity in the German Stalag camps before being returned to Eastern Europe. He apparently died sometime between Dec. 1940 and Nov. 1943 in the Lipowa 7 camp in Lublin or in the Majdanek death camp. More details.
