Volchin had two water-powered mills, one at the north-west edge of town, the other at the south-east:

Azriel and Israel Kupershmit, my great-uncle, provided grain for the two mills at Volchin: one at Kotera, past the north-west end of Volchin and the other at the south-east end of Volchin.
