The following passage is in Hamelitz, Issue #202, page 1025, 3 October 1888:
This is a protest against the people of Zikhron Ya'akov, the village supported by the Baron Rothchild in the land of Israel.
The Baron installed his officers as outside organizers [supervisors]. The people of Zikhron Ya'akov dared oppose these officers.
The undersigned sees in this action "ungratefulness towards the Baron who does so much for the settlers in the land of Israel". They call this behavior of the settlers "an outrage/despicable crime"
