This letter was sent by Arieh Leib Feinstein in response to a Kol Kore (public appeal) for contributions to be sent to London for a fund in memory of Sir Moshe Montefiore, for his projects in Eretz Israel.
This is a letter sent by The Honored Rabbi, Scholar, Wise, lover of his people and language, Extremely Diligent and Bright – Arie Leib Feinstein, famous for his clever articles in the Hebrew newspapers, addressed as AL”F (his initials, pronounced Aleph) from the ancient and big city Brisk D’Lita.
Feinstein mentions the amount of money [1260 marks] already collected in Brisk and sent to Rabbi Dr. Zilberman to forward them to London. He attached to the sum of money a detailed list of all donors and their donations. Feinstein wants Brisk to serve an example to the other communities for the love of Eretz Israel and the Jewish people.
