The period covers the years after returning from the mission in Eretz Israel:
During those years I had to deal with many matters for which I needed God’s help. So far He, praise his name, has helped me. The wedding of my Daughter Lea, the first and the second; the wedding of my daughter Peshe; The arranging of a match for my daughter Hannah; the downfall of Asher Gintzburg with a great deal of money that I had lent him; the travelling of my son-in-law to America and the debt he had owed me prior to that - paying expenses for his travel and then 230 rubles that I sent him there and helping my daughter Lea here. All these including the dowry for my daughter Hannah – I owe today about 600 rubles.
Only my store has weakened somewhat lately and I expect God’s help. What mainly worries me is the situation of my daughter Lea whose husband has been in America for 5 years and still nothing has come of it.
Also, the ill-health of my wife presses me. It disturbs the peace of the household.
